A Short Workshop Guide

  1. Choose the head shape, hat size, overall crown height, and one of the four open-crown profiles.
  2. Print the stand first. It uses the BS-1.0 peg: Ø24.606 mm × 23.813 mm working length.
  3. Use Generate STL to create the complete crown block with five Ø25.4 × 25.4 mm sockets.
  4. Import the STL into your slicer at 100% scale. Printing behavior depends on your printer, material, slicer, and settings.

The four profiles

1 Full dome · 2 Rounded open · 3 Classic open · 4 Shallow dome. All profiles use the same selected overall height; the top center is the highest point.

Blocksmith provides printable engineering geometry. It does not certify a material or print for steam, heat, load, or production use.

Optional BS-1.0 Fit Check

This small troubleshooting print conserves filament. It contains a 0.8 mm mating-surface coupon with three openings—25.0, 25.4, and 25.8 mm from left to right—and a Ø24.606 × 25.4 mm test pin.

The 25.4 mm opening represents the crown socket. The adjacent sizes help identify whether the current printer and material are producing tight or loose.

Bambu validation has been close to modeled size, so this check is optional—not a required first-run calibration.
